Notice to our pack.
If You cant reach us...
As a mobile grooming service, we’re often on the road and may be unable to answer calls immediately. Rest assured, we will return all messages as soon as we can. Also, being mobile means our arrival times can vary, especially if a previous appointment took longer than expected. We will always communicate delays.
We truly appreciate when our clients let us know if their pet is experiencing any concerns prior to appointment. Clear communication is essential to keeping our mobile grooming schedule running efficiently.
We truly care about our team and the well-being of every furry friend we care for. Our goal is always to provide a safe, happy, and healthy experience for all.
With love, Shiny Paws & Happy Hearts
Matting - Communication
Severe matting can be painful for your pet, pulling on the skin and restricting movement. Removing mats safely requires extra time, care, and patience to avoid injury or stress, which is why an additional charge applies. Matting also makes the grooming process more challenging for both the pet and the groomer.
Our goal is always to keep your pet’s coat healthy and comfortable. We completely understand that matting can happen—it’s nothing to be embarrassed about—but we do need to ensure that the proper time and care are scheduled to handle it safely and gently.
Matting Policy
If your pet has matting, it’s very important to let us know before your appointment—especially if you’ve scheduled a mini groom. When matting isn’t disclosed, we may need to shave the matted areas in order to safely complete the brushing and blowout, unless specific instructions have been given in advance.
Our standard approach for matting is spot shaving, as it’s the most efficient and comfortable method for your pet. Even if your pet isn’t receiving a full haircut, proper brushing, blow-drying, and maintenance still require time to prevent future matting.
Because we operate on a tight mobile schedule, severe matting cannot always be fully addressed during a groom. If you prefer that your pet not be shaved, please inform us ahead of time so we can allocate additional time for safe de-matting. without proper communication, it affects our whole schedule being mobile, which causes us more work and possible discounts needing to be applied to acomodate our other clients.
An additional fee may apply to cover the extra time, care, and effort required—especially if we’ve previously discussed the importance of maintenance or if the coat’s condition wasn’t accurately communicated before the appointment.
if this is your first time, and your furr baby is severely matted, we suggest a proper shave-down to reset the coat, allowing new clean furr to come though while maintaining proper care.
SHAVING isn't always cute or what we want to do first, but it is more friendly on the furr baby. matting hurts them and de matting isn't gentle, especially with specific coat textures. We never shave to skin and always leave a little furr to ensure a gentle introduction to resetting the coat.
If we’ve already discussed proper maintenance with you, this policy especially applies going forward. Additional time and fees will be added in the future if regular grooming appointments are not kept, if extended gaps between visits occur to save money, or if at-home brushing isn’t being done as recommended.
To avoid extra costs and discomfort for your pet, we recommend maintaining a regular brushing routine at home and following any grooming care instructions provided.
We promise—we don’t judge! We know life gets busy. Our goal is simply to keep your pup healthy, happy, and mat-free so every grooming experience is smooth, gentle, and stress-free for both your pet and the groomer. Consistent care helps ensure your pet stays comfortable, and every grooming visit remains a calm, positive experience for both your furry friend and our groomers.
